" This volume has been covered in clear contact paper, the original box that came with the book has also been covered with contact paper and reinforced at the corners with red electrical tape. The front cover of the book has ripped in the endpapers and is separated from the title page, so that first three or four pages before the the tissue paper that covers the portrait plate are loose. The front endpaper lists the books available in "BOHN's VARIOUS LIBRARIES published by Bell and Daldy". Discarded paper from another book has been used in the binding process to glue the tied pages together, and you can read the top of the page, which says "How I Found Liv/" and text about David Livingstone. In pencil on the title page is a name, Geo. W. Lane, and date, May, 1873. This book was published in London: Henry G. BOHN, York Street, Covent Garden. The back endpapers continue the advertisment for the publisher. The contact paper has preserved the cover, but the papers are aging and very delicate. All pages are present. Spine is broken also at page 145.
