First American Edition, 1953. Top of the spine is worn from pulling it out of the shelf at the library. Cuttings from Dust Jacket glued inside second endpapers. They were glued on the title page, but i moved them. Traces of Lepages glue on title and facing pages. The book is fresh and new looking. Covers are soiled along the bottom edge. Something was glued to the inside edges of the covers and has been torn off. Some scrapes from that event. Interior as nice and new as the day it was printed. Maps of the Waterloo battle on endpapers (hence the odd location of the cover notes). Letters that are the only known eyewitness record of the battle at Waterloo, and life as a soldier from 1809 to 1828.
