A superb set of the original 'Elephant Folio' plates - a set believed to be the finest in uncut state in America - has, through the courtesy of the owner, been followed in the making of the current reproductions. The bird names accompanying the present reproductions are those adopted in the Check-List of the American Ornithologists' Union. Further information about the original plates is to be found in the Transcript of Legends on the Original Plates in the back of the present volume." Our book number 1077.
