What do you do with all those books?
Believe it or not, years ago before we had even sold our first book, a woman walked into our house and actually asked that question. We were tempted to be sarcastic, but the truth is: We read them. Most of our inventory are books we have chosen because we wanted to read them. May others, more recently, were acquisitions from discarded book sales, purged from the local three libraries, too good to allow to be shredded. Others are just too wonderful to walk away from - and so have been collected and treasured here. Now we share them with you. We hope the one book you were looking for will be somewhere on one of our shelves.
Are returns accepted?
We sell used books. We do not know if they came from a house where "smoking cats eat peanut butter", and cannot accept them back just because they do not smell "new". BUT, if the wrong book has been sent, or if it was not described accurately in our thorough description, or if the mail service has damaged it, return the book (and in the case of postal damage, sometimes the packaging) within two weeks of receiving it and we will refund your purchase and original and return postage upon receipt of the book. Please call us to discuss the problem, Dennis and I are real people who live to serve our customers! We love books, and we figure a lot of other people do as well. Books at The M.A.D. House Artists only exists for the love of books. Overseas returns will be refunded for purchase price and original postage only, upon receipt of the book or proof of shipping (in the case of greatly delayed shipping times, the tracking numbers will suffice as proof of receipt).
May we pay with a check?
We will accept a personal check. If you need to pay with a personal check, please allow time for it to clear the bank before we ship your book. If you need the book sooner, PayPal makes an instant payment in many different and convenient ways.
Do you ship overseas?
We are happy to ship anywhere worldwide. For U.S.A. Domestic destinations, our books customarily go out USPS media mail. If you require faster service, or your purchase is extremely valuable, we are pleased to ship through Priority Mail or Express mail. Overseas, the US Postal Service will not insure the package. We will use FedEx if you request it for overseas shipments when insurance is required. The customer is responsible for all shipping charges, V.A.T., Import Duties and other Customs charges, Please check with the Customs in your home country for details.
