Inscribed inside front cover: Augustine Kimball, now owned by his daughter M. Darlie Kimball Hight. 4.75" x 7.25". 348 very old and discolored pages. Binding is loose, ties are loose, all pages are present except the very last page. Owner has written in "THE END" at the bottom of page 348. The Paragraph ends logically, it seems to be the correct end of the book. End papers are present. Brown cloth boards, embossed on front and back covers. Title in gold leaf on the spine. Much wear. Much read, much loved copy. Some newspaper clippings enclosed. Wear to top and bottom of spine and to the corners. Brown stains on several pages. Our book number 19095.

Several black and white illustrations on glossy pages. A companion to several other stories, intended as an elementary text book, pronounciation and vocabulary in the back. paper shows age, and some soil throughout, no written marks. Interesting story taking the young reader all over the world, introduction to different cultures. Our listing number 19046.

12.5" x 9.5" x 2", 5.25 lbs, unpaginated. This is a family heirloom. My family. 435 Numbered Color Plates painted by John James Audubon depicting Birds and plants of America just prior to publication in 1827 - 1838. 26 pages of index and reference numbered in Roman numerals. Water mark on the front and back covers. Some soil to the outsides of the pages. Paper is aged. Plates are clean and the colors clear. "NOTE: The 435 plates in this volume were originally published by Audubon, in London, during the years 1827-1838. A superb set of the original 'Elephant Folio' plates - a set believed to be the finest in uncut state in America - has, through the courtesy of the owner, been followed in the making of the current reproductions. The bird names accompanying the present reproductions are those adopted in the Check-List of the American Ornithologists' Union. Further information about the original plates is to be found in the Transcript of Legends on the Original Plates in the back of the present volume." Our book number 1077.

5.25" x 7.5". Hardcover, No Dust Jacket. Private Collection. My grandfather's name inside the front cover. Book has a red cloth binding with a gold bordered title on the front cover and a gold title on the spine. Gold on the spine has grown darker. Shelf wear is minor to the edges. Book is still very clean and bright looking. 414 Pages, yellowed with the age of the paper, they lived in Kansas in 1922, so it had to get there by train. It survived the Great Depression and the dust bowl, and now it is offered as a sacrifice for the education of the namesake great-grandson of the previous owner. Illustrated by John Wolcott Adams, Published in Indianapolis, The BOBBS-MERRIL COMPANY, 1922. Printed in the U.S.of A., Press of Braunworth & Co, Book Manufacturers, Brooklyn, N.Y. Back endpaper is loose, but spine is tight, just the paper is loose at the very hinge inside the back cover. Book is very clean and fresh-looking. Belonged to my aunt, who must have used it in High School, by the dates she has recorded inside. Only the tops of the pages were wet in the 1960 floods in our house in Tulsa. Just the traces of water along the tops of the pages. NO mildew.

This book does not have a printed publication date, but if you google the translator and publisher, here is what you find: "BOCCACCIO, Giovanni (1313-1375) The Decameron, or, Ten daysí entertainment of Boccaccio. A revised translation, by W[alter].K[eating]. Kelly. London, Henry G. Bohn, 1855. xii, 545p., frontis. (port.). (Bohnís Extra Volume) Extra Volume: 5. Cordasco: 213. " This volume has been covered in clear contact paper, the original box that came with the book has also been covered with contact paper and reinforced at the corners with red electrical tape. The front cover of the book has ripped in the endpapers and is separated from the title page, so that first three or four pages before the the tissue paper that covers the portrait plate are loose. The front endpaper lists the books available in "BOHN's VARIOUS LIBRARIES published by Bell and Daldy". Discarded paper from another book has been used in the binding process to glue the tied pages together, and you can read the top of the page, which says "How I Found Liv/" and text about David Livingstone. In pencil on the title page is a name, Geo. W. Lane, and date, May, 1873. This book was published in London: Henry G. BOHN, York Street, Covent Garden. The back endpapers continue the advertisment for the publisher. The contact paper has preserved the cover, but the papers are aging and very delicate. All pages are present. Spine is broken also at page 145.

Embossed Schooner on the front cover with a rope border around title on spine and on front cover. Books may have been read one time by my Father when he was a child. Some pages must be split open with a letter opener. Private collection of my Great-Aunt. Titles are as follows: Almayer's Folly, The Arrow of Gold, Chance, The Inheritors, Lord Jim, The Mirror of the Sea, The Nigger of Narcissus, Nostromo, Notes on Life and Letters, Outcast of the Islands, Personal Record, The Rescue, Romance, The Rover, The Secret Agent, A Set of Six, The Shadow Line, Suspense, Tales of Hearsay, Tales of Unrest, 'Twixt Land and Sea, Typhoon, Under Western Eyes, Victory, Within the Tides, Youth (with Heart of Darkness and . The top of the books are gilded on the tops of the pages, the bottoms of the pages are not cut evenly. There is some shelf wear to the books just from being eighty years old. Many have never been read. The pages are clean. All Spines are tight. Inside ROMANCE, at page 264-5 there is a 1951 newspaper clipping of an etching of Conrad on permanent exhibit at the Philbrook Art center which has discolored the two adjacent pages. Shipping of thirty American pounds of books will incur additional shipping costs. (Twenty eight pounds of books, and reasonable packing to protect them.) Our item number 19400.

Full color Lithograph on the front cover of a lovely young lady, copyrighted 1906 by The Forbes Litho. MFG Co. No other dates given in the book. The Corsican Brothers, 148 pages. Also included are two other titles: The Artist's Love, 102 pages; and Florry's Lesson, 14 pages. Front endpaper missing before my grandfather bought the book, because he has written his name on the top of the title page, and he always writes it on the facing endpaper. Clothbound, dark green with full color litho on the front cover, white lettering worn from spine. Wear to the edges, cprners, and hinges. As with all of my grandfather's books, this one has been read, and carefully moved from private library to private library for over 100 years. Sale for the education of the next generation (and namesake).
